G’day Church ….

The message from Sunday past was called, ‘Christ the Redeemer!’ The text was John 21 and Luke 5- it was about Jesus reinstating Peter after his 3 times Denial of his Saviour and Lord. It is a wonderful thing that Jesus, our Good Shepherd, hasn’t just made provision for our Salvation by his sacrifical death on the Cross, but that He rose from death and lives and reigns today! He doesn’t just know us (ginosko) and where we are (or aren’t) in our walk in Him; but He actively pursues us and brings us back to Himself.
Our proneness to wander, our ongoing sinfulness and even service fatigue kill the passion that once fuelled our love and service of the Lord. For Peter, it was the guilt of his 3 times denial.
These send us back to a faith junction every time- am I to follow Christ or go back to what I did before??

Peter was at that point, as we sometimes are. Jesus knew that and left them to a long night of fruitless fishing. He appears to them at daybreak and on the beach, with the backdrop of a fire, fish and bread- He connects with them again. In that place, after breakfast, Jesus deals with Peter with a three times asked question- do you love me Peter? With these three questions, Jesus sifts through Peter’s priority list again- do you really love me? Peter is made to grapple with his concience and to declare his aliegence and love (above all else) for His Lord again.

In our lives and church, we can also lose our passion and head back to the question- why am I doing all this? Some of you may be there today, friends?? I want to encourage you that Jesus loves you. That He knows where you’re at and that He goes to great lengths to call you back- back to following Him, back to faith, back to church, back to ministry and the great purposes of the Kingdom! If you’re disillusioned, come back, sort out your sin and find again the joy of rekindled love and service. He is indeed mighty to save, and to restore us to Himself! He calls to Peter is a call to us- to follow,and to fish for men!!

Hallalujah for His Amazing grace to us continually!

Lauren Dreyer will have the 2yrs-4yrs in the back classroom.

So feel free to drop them off before service starts and pick them up afterwards. Should you be needed to assist with your child you will be contacted by the creche staff during the service.

Dance classes start up this Thurs, 26th April.

Welcome ….

Well, winter had truely shown it’s it face!! I love the cold rainy weather, especially when I get to cuddle up with a good book (or dvd) and a steaming cup of tea! Hmm, if only I could get my family to let me off the hook so I could spend time doing that……

Well, raining or not , we look forward to getting together this week!

Firstly, thank you for allowing me to share my testimony last week. I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to hearing everyone’s in the future.

This week Yolanda will be teaching us about SOAP! A brilliant tool to help us dig in and get the most out of our times of devotion and Bible study.

In order to get the most out of this Yolanda has asked for each of us to please bring our Bible, pen and a notebook for this session.

We had a great start to our evening ladies group..

We had a wonderful group of about 16 ladies at Sarah’s house last Thurs. What a blessing!

Welcome everyone and we look forward to seeing you each week. Sarah has invited everyone to come from 7pm if they would like to, to enjoy tea and a chat before we start. However, if you have other commitments please don’t despair, we won’t start without you, come along at soon as you are able!

Thank you to those who provided eats and served at the Kinross tea last week. The teachers and staff were really blessed by the effort made and enjoyed a great morning.
On of our objectives for the church this year is evangelism – to fulfill the Great Commission! This is a wonderful way to reach out to our community with the love and compassion of Christ.

This is for everyobody who has ever been a mom, and to all who desire to be one

Come and enjoy some tea and coffee while you listen to guest speaker, Yvette Kriel, as well a browsing arts and crafts tables. This will be on the morning of 12 May from 9:45 – 12:00 at Perth Bible College, 1 College Court, Karrinyup.

G’day Church ….

“Are we there yet?”

I can remember as a child traveling away with my family on holidays. Being young and eager to get out at our destination to play, I can remember being exasperated at how long it seemed to take for us to “get there”.

Whilst as adults we seem to become more patient as we grow, there remains a part of us that is anxious to know if “we’ve arrived” in life.

In terms of our Christian walk, this side of eternity, we are continually on a road to maturity as we grow up into the fullness of Christ. This is the calling of the church according to Ephesians 4, to build up the body of Christ “until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (verse 13).

The word “mature” (Greek: Teleios) literally means “perfection” or “to be complete”. Now, if we are on this journey through life with God the answer to our question “have we arrived yet?” is NO! But we are on the road towards it.

If ever you are wondering “what on earth God is doing with your life?”, you can be assured of the answer. He is maturing you! He is completing you. He is perfecting you. He is working in and through you to bring you to a place where you grow up to “mature manhood” in the “fullness of Christ“.

This is the road to maturity that all of us are on. When we recognise this in our life’s circumstances and situations, then we can agree with God and allow Him to forge in us more of the likeness of Jesus Christ.

I pray that this week would be a week of hope, faith and overcoming in the Lord.

G’day Church ….

Psalm 23, often read at funerals and spoken of in sombre tones, is so much more than that. It is the life-giving, Spirit-empowering Word of God!

The one phrase the Lord has been speaking to me is verse 3 “He restores my soul”.

This is a promise from God. But what does it mean? Our soul, even if we are born again, is in need of being restored. Because of the curse of sin, our souls have been degraded and most of us end up living according to our soulish desires, thoughts and feelings.

This points us to the fact that our souls are out of kilter with God’s created purpose for our lives. His purpose is that we are not led by the soul (or the flesh) but rather we are to be led by the Spirit of God.

Thankfully, God’s promise is He is the restorer of our souls. What does “restore” mean? The Hebrew word for “restore” means to “return back to the point of departure”. That point of departure is the Garden of Eden and the fall of man, when Adam and Eve fell into temptation, following the carnal desires over the Word of God.

God desires to restore our lives to the place where we no longer walk according to what our soul and flesh desires but what the Spirit of God says to us. The reason He wants this is that He knows it will lead to eternal life.

That’s why in John 12:25 we are promised:
“He who loves his (psuche) life loses it, and he who hates his (psuche) life in this world will keep it to (pneuma) life eternal.”

If we die to the (soul led – psuche) life, and hate the (soul led – psuche) life, THEN we are promised eternal (Spirit led – Pneuma) life. This is what the life of a restored soul looks like; eternal, Spirit-led life.

Let’s die to the old nature and live by the Spirit this week church,

Ps PAUL’S SA MISSIONS UPDATE

Ps Paul is currently in Gordon’s Bay ministering both to the church there and in the church plant in Temperance Town. Already there is much happening, at Door of Hope (the name of the church in T-Town) with many children giving their hearts to the Lord. After a prophetic activations service at Gordon’s Bay church Sunday night, all are in readiness for three evangelistic services in T-Town this Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoon. Please be in prayer for this as Ps Paul leads the team to take ground for the kingdom of God.

G’day ONE Church Family!

What a FANTASTIC day we had on Sunday celebrating the AMAZING GRACE of God at work in the lives of those who shared their testimonies and were baptised! If you missed the service, you can listen to the testimonies on our website – it is well worth your time to hear of the transforming power of Christ at work in their lives- I promise you will be blessed!

It was also a blessing for all of us to be reminded of what our HEAVENLY FATHER declares and believes about all of His children that have come to Him through their faith in Jesus Christ and are living in obedience to Him:

You are my son/daughter!
I love you!
I am well pleased with your faith and obedience to Me!

I pray that God will give each of us a fresh revelation of these truths this week and that in response we will grow to love Him more deeply and serve Him more passionately.

I would also like to encourage all of us to pray for those who were baptised on Sunday. Pray for them to grow in the knowledge of God, know the voice of their Good Shepherd, be strengthened to resist temptation and to resist the lies of the enemy who will attempt to discourage and defeat them after such a public declaration of their faith.

May the Love of the Father, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all!

One Surf School trip is going well.

We have had word back that they arrived safely in Lancelin and are enjoying great waves and the sand dunes. Please continue to pray for safety in the water and with travelling back on Wed, as well as for a fruitful time while there.

Creative Arts workshop

The kids can’t wait to get there in the mornings and come home with great big smiles! Thanks to Kayleigh and her team for doing such a phenominal job so far.
Parents are invited to join them on Thurs from 12 -1pm to see what the chilrdern have been learning and to end off the workshop.

ALL USUAL MNISTRIES ARE CLOSED DURING THE HOLIDAYS

School holidays end middle of next week so not too long to wait before the ministries start up again.

Valley of Dry Bones

Here’s a word that came through our P&F365 this week from Ezekiel 37:1-14

“I believe the Lord was showing me that the army is coming together, gathering sinews and flesh, but there is no breath yet. I got the words “CALL TO WIND! (verse 9)”

So, please join us in “calling to the wind” by calling for the BREATH AND SPIRIT OF GOD to fall upon us and bring to life that which is spiritually dead!

EZEKIEL 37:1-14

¹ The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. ² He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. ³He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

I said, “O Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”

⁴ Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! ⁵ This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. ⁶I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

⁷ So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. ⁸I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

⁹ Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” ¹⁰So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.

¹¹ Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ ¹² Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. ¹³ Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. ¹⁴ I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’”
